Production dates:  March 29 to April 15 – Wednesday to Saturday

Rehearsals begin on Thursday January 10 and will be on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

There will be one read through before Christmas

Place: Pleasant Valley Retirement Home – anywhere in Canada

Synopsis: Seniors Follies is a charming and light hearted comedy. The Retirement community at Pleasant Valley is home to an interesting cast of characters – a widower, a spinsters and divorcees. All are a little quirky. They know each other well and have become a kind of a family. Then viagra, a hot tub and 2 new residents shake things up.


All of the cast other than Mr/Mrs Rivers are 55 plus

Bernice Thompson – level headed, calm by nature, a good friend to everyone, married to Douglas

Douglas Thompson – a simple, good natured, slow talking man who loves gardening, married to Bernice

Mildred Rice – Bernice’s best friend, a little excitable, very likeable – single

Sarah Jane Dinsmore – a wry sense of humour, energetic – single

Iris Cunningham – soft spoken and shy around strangers, can be slightly disheveled –a spinster

Howard Phelps – a bit of lady’s man, energetic and jolly – divorcee

Lowell Thackery – very attractive, a bit of a cad – partnered with Sybil

Sybil Thackery – attractive, athletic, slightly sophisticated – partnered with Lowell

Mr. or Mrs. Rivers – the manager of Pleasant Valley, business like, can be male or female and any age between 30 and 50 – this is a smaller role
