Audition: The World Goes ‘Round

Calling all Broadway belters!

The World Goes ‘Round is a celebration of the legendary Broadway song-writing team of Kander & Ebb.  This revue is comprised of thirty show-stopping musical numbers from stage and film, including classics from ChicagoCabaretKiss of the Spider WomanFunny Lady and New York, New York.  A versatile cast of three women and two men portray multiple characters who perform heart-wrenching ballads, satirical send-ups and uplifting show tunes.  Every cast member will be featured in solos, duets and group numbers. Choreography will range in difficulty from basic to moderate.


Sunday, January 15, 2017, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday, January 16, 2017  7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Performers will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

No appointment necessary.


Monday, January 23, 2017  7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tuesday, January 24 2017, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

(Callbacks will be scheduled in small groups)


First auditions will involve an interview and singing only. Please prepare one Broadway song – ballad or up-tempo, your choice. A Kander & Ebb composition is preferred, but not required. An accompanist will be provided if you are bringing sheet music. Backing tracks on USB sticks or CDs may also be played. A brief dance routine will be learned and performed at callbacks. To enable our audition accompanist to become familiar with your music in advance, we would encourage you, if possible, to email a PDF of your sheet music in the key to be performed to musical director Barb Brolly at by Friday, January 13.

Rehearsal start date: Sunday, February 5

Rehearsals: Tuesday 7 – 10 p.m., Thursday 7 – 10 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m.

Not all performers will be required at all rehearsals. It is planned that solos and duets will rehearse weeknights and group numbers will rehearse on Sunday afternoons.


June 8 to 24, Wednesday to Saturday at 8 p.m.

One Saturday matinee June 17 at 2 p.m.

Possible holdover dates: June 28-30 at p.m.
